Many town libraries lend or reserve passes to museums, zoos and parks. The list differs by library: Boston Public Library, Oxford MA, Athol MA and Cambridge MA each have their own. Search your library's website for "museum passes". Details and sources.

2. EBT, WIC and Museums for All

If your household has a SNAP EBT card, Museums for All gives $5-or-less admission at participating museums for up to four people. Massachusetts also runs EBT Card to Culture. Vermont state parks are free for households with active EBT or WIC in 2026. See the list.

3. Bank of America Museums on Us

Free general admission on the first full weekend of every month for Bank of America, Merrill and Bank of America Private Bank cardholders. Next: November 7-8, 2026. This is information, not an endorsement or affiliation.

4. Recurring free days

Some museums have standing free times: RISD Museum (Sundays and Thursday evenings), Portland Museum of Art (Friday evenings), ICA Boston (Thursday nights), Wadsworth (Second Saturdays), Currier (Second Saturday for NH residents). Browse the list.

5. State parks and federal passes

Connecticut state parks are free for Connecticut-registered vehicles. Massachusetts and Maine charge small fees at some parks. U.S. 4th graders can get a free Every Kid Outdoors pass.
